Botanical painting and Botanical illustration originate in the XVI century in Europe and today are popular genres of art in Europe, America, Asia, and Australia. Artists in their works reflect the diversity of plant life, draw attention to those species and ecosystems that are under threat of extinction. The Association of Botanical artists (SABA) was created to promote and develop Botanical art and popularize the public consciousness of this artistic tradition in Russia.
