A series of Pyatigorsk sketches, 2018.

A series of Pyatigorsk sketches, created in September 2018, includes mountain views associated with the mountains Mashuk and Beshtau. And it is no coincidence, because Pyatigorsk was named in 1830 by the name of mountain Beshtau (it means "Five mountains" or "Five peaks"). Mountain Mashuk owes its name to a mountain legend about a beautiful girl Mashuko, signifying in Persian "beloved”, crying about her dead bridegroom Tau killed by old Elbrus. Admiring the breathtaking views of the largest resort city Pyatigorsk of the Caucasian mineral waters, I can only exhale "Blessed Caucasus!" standing on a cliff and taking the brush to take a piece of this beauty with me.
